A lacy, long-lasting filler for bouquets and borders with soft white umbels atop sturdy stems.
Seed Treatment
• Cold stratify for 3 weeks in the fridge using the damp paper towel method:
Place seeds on a moist paper towel inside a ziplock bag.
• Check regularly. If seedlings emerge early, gently plant them in soil immediately.
• Soak seeds for 12-24 hours before planting
• Optional: GA₃ (Gibberellic Acid) can improve germination. Use only if experienced, as incorrect concentration may destroy seeds.
Best Sowing Time
• Indoors: 6–8 weeks before last frost
• Outdoors: Early spring or late fall (fall sowing mimics natural stratification)
Germination Conditions
• Optimum Temperature: 18–22°C (64–72°F)
• Daylight Hours: 12–16 hrs/day ☀️ → Use grow lights if sowing indoors in low-light conditions
• Germination Time: Up to 28 days (after stratification)
Post-Germination Care
• Transplant when seedlings have 2–3 sets of true leaves
• Harden off before moving outdoors
• Space 25–30 cm apart in full sun
Growing Tips
• Prefers well-drained soil
• Tolerates poor soils but thrives in rich, loamy beds
• Stake if grown in windy areas
• Deadhead to encourage more blooms or allow to self-seed
