Seed Treatment (Preparation Before Sowing)

  • Soak in warm water for 12 hours.

Sowing Instructions

  • Best Sowing Time:

    • Indoors: Start 8–10 weeks before the last frost.

    • Outdoors: Direct sow in late spring or early autumn.

  • Seed Depth: Surface sow—do not cover the seeds, as they need light to germinate.

  • Soil: Well-draining, fertile, and slightly alkaline to neutral (pH 6.5–7.5).

  • Light Requirement: Bright, indirect light or a sunny location.

  • Moisture: Keep soil moist but not soggy—use a fine mist spray.

  • Temperature: Maintain at 65–70°F (18–21°C) for optimal germination.

  • Germination Time: 14–21 days.

Aftercare & Transplanting

  • Once seedlings have 2–3 true leaves, thin or transplant to their final location.

  • Spacing:12–18 inches apart to allow proper airflow and prevent overcrowding.

  • Watering: Water regularly but avoid overwatering.

  • Support: Taller plants may need staking to support heavy flower spikes.

  • Blooming: Flowers appear in late spring to summer, and deadheading can encourage continuous blooming.
