Planting guides for Annuals, Biennials, Perennials, Shrub & Vine seeds can be found at:
https://bloomoutlet.com/seed-guides/
Please read BOTH the seed guide and the PLANT SPECIFIC sowing instructions. If you are unsure of the best way to germinate the seeds, DO NOT SOW ALL THE SEEDS. Keep some in case the germination method you use doesn’t work.
Cold stratify ALL perennials, shrub & tree seeds for at least 30 days unless the plant specific instructions indicate a longer period.
If you are not ready to plant the seeds, keep it in the refrigerator (not freezer).
CARDIOCRINUM GIGANTEUM | GREAT HIMALAYAN LILY
For optimal germination rates, initiate seed propagation indoors under controlled conditions—unless the species exhibits a high sensitivity to root disturbance. This approach allows precise regulation of temperature, humidity, and light, improving germination consistency and seedling viability. Do not skip any recommended seed treatments, as they are essential for uniform and successful germination.
⚠️ Keep soil evenly moist during germination. DO NOT LET IT DRY OUT—once seeds begin absorbing water (imbibition), drying can kill the seed embryo, and even brief dryness after sprouting can kill seedlings.
Plant Specific Instructions (Read “Seed Guide” as well): The seed is sown all year round. Sow seeds into fertile, humus rich soil with a pH between 6-8. The germination period of the seeds is very long as it ranges from one to two years, but it can be shortened by using a 60 day cold stratification at approx. 41°F (5°C). After the end of stratification the seeds are planted on the surface and then covered with 3 mm layers of sand. Keep moist, use grow lights to maintain 12–16 hours of light per day and maintain a steady temperature of 68°F (20°C).
