Planting Instructions

  1. Timing:

    • Indoors: Start seeds 4-6 weeks before the last frost.
    • Outdoors: Direct sow in spring after the last frost or in early fall in mild climates.

  2. Soil:

    • Prefers light, well-draining sandy or loamy soil.
    • Tolerates poor, dry soils but thrives in soil with moderate fertility.

  3. Light:

    • Full sun is ideal (at least 6 hours of sunlight daily).

  4. Sowing:

    • Scatter seeds thinly on the soil surface.
    • Lightly press them into the soil, covering with a very thin layer (about 1/8 inch) of soil or sand.

  5. Watering:

    • Keep the soil evenly moist until germination (usually 7-14 days).
    • Once established, Lagurus ovatus is drought-tolerant and needs minimal watering.

  6. Temperature:

    • Optimal germination temperature is 65-75°F (18-24°C).

  7. Spacing:

    • Thin seedlings to 6-12 inches apart for best growth and airflow.
