Fragrant, wild climbing rose with sweet scented flowers. Leaves have a delicious fragrance, when bruised.

Type: Deciduous Shrub

Flower Color: The sweet scented flowers are usually pale pink, but can vary between deep pink and white. The five petaled blooms are 1.6-2.4 in (4-6 cm) in diameter

Foliage: Dark to bluish green

Flowering Time: June to July

Plant Height: up to 10 ft (3m)

Plant Width: up to 6.5 ft (2m)

Light Requirements: Full Sun. Tolerates semi-shade (light woodland). 

Water Requirements: Prefers moist soil

Soil Requirements: Well drained, light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils. 

Suitable pH: mildly acid, neutral and basic (mildly alkaline) soils.

USDA Zone: 3-7

Sowing Instructions (Cliff Notes Version): Fill a tray with a moist seed starting mix. Plant the seeds about 1/4 inch deep. Seal the tray in a plastic bag and place it in the refrigerator for 8-12 weeks. Take the tray out of the refrigerator in early spring and put it by a window in bright, indirect sun. The temperature should be around 70F (21C). Keep the soil moist.
