Morus nigra | Black Mulberry

Planting guides for Annuals, Biennials, Perennials, Shrub & Vine seeds can be found at:

https://bloomoutlet.com/seed-guides/

Please read both the seed guide and the plant specific sowing instructions. If you are unsure of the best way to germinate the seeds, DO NOT SOW ALL THE SEEDS. Keep some in case the germination method you use doesn’t work.

Cold stratify ALL perennials, shrub & tree seeds for at least 30 days unless the plant specific instructions indicate a longer period.

MORUS NIGRA - BLACK MULBERRY

Plant Specific Instructions (Read “Seed Guide” as well): Soak in water for 24 hours. Repeat this process daily for 4 days (replace the water every 2 days) then cold stratify for 3 months. Sow in a cold frame in February. Seeds usually germinate in the first spring but it sometimes takes another 12 months. Prick out the seedlings into individual pots when they are large enough to handle and grow in a cold frame for their first winter. Plant them out in late spring or early summer after the last expected frosts. Read the Seed Guide for “Shrubs/Vines”

Mulberry seeds can be difficult to germinate and may naturally show low rates of germination.
